Construction work on the site started in June 2014. To ensure traffic during construction a temporary bridge across the river was built. Now a new reinforced concrete 60-meter bridge was constructed instead of the old bridge and it has become much easier to get from Riga to Berģu Skati and Langstiņmuiža cottage settlements through Mezhciems.
